Our bestsellers include Nuln Oil, Agrax Earthshade, Abaddon Black, Leadbelcher and Chaos Black spray.

Army Painter — Danish brand with an exceptional Warpaints Fanatic range offering outstanding coverage and a triad colour system, plus Speedpaint 2.0 for one-step painting, Quickshade washes and metallic paints.

Scale75 — premium Spanish paints for advanced painters. The Scalecolor range has an ultra-matte finish ideal for blending and NMM. Metal n' Alchemy metallics, Inktensity inks, Fantasy & Games and Instant Colors lines also available.

AK Interactive — one of the largest ranges in our store with over 800 products. The 3rd Generation acrylic line, Real Colors, Xtreme Metal, True Metal wax metallics, Deep Shades, inks, pigments, weathering products, primers and varnishes.

Abteilung 502 — specialist oil paints widely used for figure painting, filters and weathering effects. The most comprehensive oil paint range we stock, alongside mediums and thinners.

Monument Pro Acryl — American acrylics with exceptional smoothness and flow, popular among advanced painters for blending and smooth coverage.

We also stock Soilworks, MIG, Liquitex, Dirty Down, Colour Forge, Winsor & Newton and Privateer Press paints.

Paint Types — What to Use for What

Acrylic paints are the foundation of miniature painting — water-soluble, fast-drying and available in hundreds of colours from every brand we stock. They work for all techniques from basic base coating to advanced blending and glazing.

Washes and shades are thin, low-viscosity paints that flow into recesses and create shadows without brush marks. Essential for giving miniatures depth and definition quickly. Citadel Shade, Vallejo Washes, Army Painter Quickshade and AK Interactive Deep Shades are all available.

Contrast and Speedpaint — one-step paints that combine base, shade and highlight in a single coat. Citadel Contrast and Army Painter Speedpaint 2.0 are the most popular options for fast army painting and beginner-friendly results.

Metallic paints use metallic pigments to simulate the appearance of metal surfaces. Standard metallics work for most tabletop quality painting; advanced metallics like Scale75 Metal n' Alchemy and AK Interactive Xtreme Metal produce significantly more realistic results for display painting.

Oil paints dry slowly and blend exceptionally, making them ideal for figure painting techniques like flesh blending, dot filtering and panel line washes. Used over a sealed acrylic layer and removed with odourless thinner. Abteilung 502 and MIG oil ranges are available.

Enamel paints are primarily used for weathering effects — chips, rust, mud and grime — and require enamel thinner (not water). Available from AK Interactive and MIG.

Primers and sprays — the essential first step before any painting. We stock a full range of spray primers from Citadel, Vallejo, AK Interactive and Scale75 in black, white, grey and colour primers.

Varnishes and mediums — protective varnishes (matt, satin and gloss) and acrylic mediums for adjusting consistency, drying time and flow of your paints.

Which Paints Are Best for Beginners?

For players new to miniature painting, we recommend starting with one of our paint starter sets. The most popular choices are the Citadel Colour Starter Sets — designed specifically for Warhammer miniatures with pre-selected colours that work together — and the Army Painter Warpaints Fanatic starter sets, which offer exceptional coverage at a lower price per millilitre.

For a full guide to choosing between the major brands, read our article Miniature paint comparison: Citadel vs Vallejo vs Scale75 vs Army Painter.

The Paint Zone — Try Before You Buy

Our Pilsen store features a dedicated Paint Zone — a painting station where anyone can sit down and try painting a miniature before making any purchase. We provide brushes, water, paints and a demo miniature. There is no obligation to buy. This is particularly useful if you're choosing between brands or techniques and want to see how different paints actually feel and perform on a model.

Frequently Asked Questions — Miniature Paints

Which miniature paints are best for beginners?
Citadel Colour is the most recommended starting range for Warhammer painters — it has the most tutorials, the clearest system (Base, Shade, Layer) and is designed specifically for Games Workshop miniatures. Army Painter Warpaints Fanatic is an excellent and more economical alternative. For a full comparison, read our paint comparison guide.

What is the difference between acrylic, oil and enamel paints?
Acrylic paints are water-soluble, fast-drying and used for all standard miniature painting. Oil paints dry slowly and are used for advanced blending, figure painting and panel washes — applied over a sealed acrylic layer. Enamel paints require enamel thinner and are primarily used for weathering effects on vehicles and terrain. Beginners should start with acrylics.

What is a wash and why do I need one?
A wash is a thin, low-viscosity paint that flows into recesses and creates shadows automatically — without careful brushwork. Applied over a base coat, a wash dramatically increases the depth and realism of any miniature in minutes. Nuln Oil (grey, universal for metals and dark armour) and Agrax Earthshade (brown, for skin, leather and warm tones) are our two bestselling products.

What are Contrast paints and Speedpaints?
One-step paints that combine base, shade and highlight in a single coat — apply over a white or grey primer and the paint self-shades into recesses and stays lighter on raised surfaces. Citadel Contrast and Army Painter Speedpaint 2.0 are the most popular options. Ideal for quickly painting large armies and for beginners who want good results immediately.

Do I need a primer before painting?
Yes — primer ensures paint adheres properly and prevents chipping. Without primer, acrylic paints can peel off plastic miniatures over time. We recommend spray primers for speed and even coverage: Chaos Black for dark colour schemes, Corax White for light schemes, and grey or bone (Wraithbone, Grey Seer) for Contrast and Speedpaint techniques.

Can I mix paints from different brands?
Yes — all acrylic paints in our range are water-soluble and fully compatible with each other. Many experienced painters use Citadel for base coats, Vallejo for layering, Scale75 for metallics and Army Painter Speedpaint for one-step base painting. Mixing brands is common practice and produces excellent results.
